Ok. So, I was told to write a bio. Therefore I asked myself, "What makes me any different than you?" Nothing. Unless I can safely admit that I'm the LUCKIEST girl in the world, playing YOU anything on the 2005 Billboard Magazine Radio Station of the
Year.
I started out in Kindergarten warning my mom, "I wanna be a movie star!" Ok. That was the goal until I moved to L.A. and was told, "Honey, too much Midwestern cornbread is still attached to your body." Yikes. That one left a mark. So, instead of giving up on Toasted Ravioli I moved back to the Midwest where I belong.
I went to college in Kentucky, then to St. Louis, then Paducah, Kentucky (missed the ya'lls) and then to Bristol, Virginia (BEAUTIFUL place...the people?...well, slightly STRANGE!
That is how I got here. I can't lie to you and say I grew up in the great towns of DeKalb or Palatine. I grew up in a small country town in Southern Illinois called Waterloo...blink and you'll miss it! I bet growing up Downtown or in Plainfield or in Winnetka would have been an awesome experience. If that had happened I probably would have never left!
I've been in the most amazing city in the world for about two years now. It all came as one on a chilly day in June while here visiting a girlfriend. We were kicking back vodka and pink lemonades at the Wells Street Art Fair. After about 4, I looked around at the awesome Chicago scene and I felt so loved and desired(Ohhh what cocktails can do to you after a few!). I tilted my head back (head held up by my hand of course) and shouted "I HAALLLOOVVEEE DIS-TAWN!!!" (translation: I LOVE THIS TOWN!!)
I went back to the radio station I worked at in Virginia and turned in my notice. (Yeah I know, not too smart to be without a job in this day and age but my life motto is "Everything Happens for a Reason.")
Now I'm here and I hate to tell ya...but you'll have to fight me if you ever want me to leave. I LOVE this place! From Millenium Park...to The River Walk in Naperville...to summer nights at Ravinia!
Chicago is my kind of town.
